In-Office Ultrasound

In-office ultrasound is conveniently offered in our building. Ultrasound in Pregnancy is used to find out when your baby will be due, to assess how well the baby is growing and how healthy he or she is. It can also tell us if there is more than one baby, what position the baby is in. We may need to perform both a transvaginal ultrasound and a transabdominal ultrasound depending on how large the fetus is. The second trimester ultrasound is generally done around 20 weeks. The purpose of this ultrasound is not to determine if the baby is a boy or a girl but to find out if there are any problems with the baby developing or growing. Sometimes ultrasound technicians have a difficult time getting all of the pictures they need because of the way a baby is position or challenges with the mother’s anatomy.
