Nexplanon

Nexplanon Insertion/ Removal – Nexplanon is a form of hormonal birth control that is commonly known as “the implant.” The device is a small rod that gets inserted into the upper arm and it can prevent pregnancy for up to 3 years. Inserting the implant is simple and is done via a small incision in the upper arm. When a patient decides they want the implant removed (or when the device is nearing the end of its effectiveness), an incision will be made at the location of the device and the implant will be removed with a special instrument.
